Based in the 'Hitman' stealth video game series, 'Hitman: Agent 47' stars Rupert Friend as a bald assassin with a bar code on the back of his neck who works for the top-secret International Contracts Agency. As it opens this week, let's look at some of our favorite killers for hire.

Armed with dashing good looks and an actual license to kill, James Bond is by far the coolest assassin to ever walk the halls of MI-6 or drive an Aston Martin. From Sean Connery (pictured here) to Daniel Craig, 007 hasn’t missed a target in over 50 years.

Vincent (Tom Cruise) is the coolest, calmest business man you will ever meet – the only catch is that he’s in the business of taking people out. When he’s not debating the finer points of society with his cab driver, he’s taking out jazz musicians at point-blank. This is one cab fare you’ll want to turn down.

Francisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) is the most expensive hit man in the world.  Charging one million dollars per hit, this sure shot is so accurate, he only carries a single golden bullet – and his next one has 007’s name on it. Literally.

The only thing scarier than the .50 cal machine gun he uses to shred Jack Black in this 1997 thriller is his blond wig. Willis plays the world’s greatest assassin, with more disguises than he has bullets.

Leon (Jean Reno) is a very private man. He makes a living at killing, but chooses to live a simple life off the radar in a tiny apartment. Until he takes on a protégé of sorts in the form of a young Natalie Portman.

Strengths: Being a very loyal, one-man kill squad to Don Corleone. Weaknesses: Fear of private one-on-ones at the wedding of his boss’s daughter, sleeping with the fishes.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) are just a regular couple living the American dream in the suburbs, no different than anyone else except for that fact that their kitchen appliances house an arsenal that would make Seal Team 6 cower.

Anton Chigurh (Javier Bardem) is death, cold and simple. He kills everything in his path as he seeks to reclaim money that was taken from a drug deal gone bad. He has no emotions, just a weaponized compressed air tank and a bad haircut.

Michael (Tom Hanks) is a husband and father who puts food on the table by working as a hit man for the Irish mob. When one of his sons witnesses a murder, and his other boy is killed for it, Sullivan goes all “Man on Fire” with nothing but a fedora and tommy gun.
