Biography
American singer and musician Thomas DeLonge, most known for his work with the rock band Blink-182 and his distinctive voice, was born in Poway, California. He started playing the guitar as a child and co-founded the band for which he's most known nowadays during high school. Their first album, "Cheshire Cat" (1995) made them popular in the local scene, but it was only with their third album, "Enema of the State" (1999) that they achieved widespread success, going quadruple-platinum in the US and spearheading a rebirth of the pop punk genre. Their next work, "Take Off your Pants and Jacket" (2001) was their first number 1 release in several countries. Despite their success, DeLonge earned for work non-Blink related, which resulted in the album "Box Car Racer" (2002), his side project with band mate Travis Barker. Despite the success of Blink's fifth album, internal conflicts and a shift in priorities led to the singer leaving the band in 2005. DeLonge went on to dedicate himself to the project Angels & Airwaves, as well as to non-musical endeavors, in writing and enterprising. He has since reunited with Blink-182 twice, in 2009 and in 2022.
