Sienna Miller went from a career as a model to a sustained acting career that saw her gain fame in both of her home countries. Born in New York City, she moved with her family to London while still an infant. She began acting in her early-20s with a part in the Rupert Everett-Elle MacPherson comedy "South Kensington" (2001). She had recurring roles in the television series "Bedtime" (BBC, 2001-03) and a starring role on "Keen Eddie" (Fox, 2003). She began gaining momentum in film with a starring role opposite Daniel Craig in "Layer Cake" (2004).She partnered with Jude Law, with whom she would be romantically linked for a number of years, in the remake of "Alfie" (2004). She quickly became an in demand actress, starring with Heath Ledger in "Casanova" (2005) and playing Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick in "Factory Girl" (2006). She played a soap opera actress in "Interview" (2007) and was part of the ensemble of the fantasy epic "Stardust" (2007). She also starred in the adaptation of Mchael Chabon's novel "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh" (2008). Her stardom reached a new level when she played The Baroness in the action-adventure "G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra" (2009). Her relationship with Law, as well as a brief romance with actor Balthazar Getty, made her a target for tabloids on both sides of the Atlantic. The publicity didn't derail her acting, though, as she appeared with Billy Zane in "2 Jacks" (2012) and in the drama "Just Like a Woman" (2012). She soon began a run of playing characters based on real-life figures, starting with her role as actress Tipi Hedren in "The Girl" (HBO, 2012). She played the wife of slain wrestler Dave Schultz, Nancy, in "Foxcatcher" (2014) and as Taya Kyle opposite Bradley Cooper in "American Sniper" (2014). The actress appeared on Broadway as well, including taking over for Emma Stone in the 2014 revival of "Cabaret." She went on to star with Charlie Hunnam and Tom Holland in the historical drama "The Lost City of Z" (2016). Ben Afleck cast Miller in his noirish crime drama "Live By Night" (2016) as duplicitous gangster moll Emma Gould. After a supporting role in "The Catcher Was a Spy" (2018), she starred with Aaron Paul and Christina Hendricks in the drama "American Woman" (2018). The actress once again portrayed a true life figure, this time playing the wife of former Fox News head Roger Ailes, in the miniseries "The Loudest Voice" (Showtime, 2019), alongside Russell Crowe and Naomi Watts. She also earned critical raves for playing a woman who's daughter disappears in "American Woman" (2018). Miller then starred as the police partner of Chadwick Boseman in the drama "21 Bridges" (2019).
