Biography
Versatile character actor Michael Gregory has appeared in over 100 films and television series since 1971. By his late 20s, he had filled guest roles on iconic sitcoms "All in the Family" and "The Partridge Family" and was featured on the pilot episode of the short-lived "Shaft" cop series. Gregory portrayed Dr. Rick Webber between 1976 and 1978 on the daytime soap "General Hospital" and landed a supporting role in his first major motion picture in 1984. The film was the action-comedy hit "Beverly Hills Cop," in which Gregory played opposite comedian Eddie Murphy as manager of the Beverly Palms Hotel. In 1987, Gregory collaborated with controversial director Paul Verhoeven, filling the role of Lieutenant Hedgecock in his dystopian sci-fi actioner, "RoboCop." With a stern, weathered face, Gregory made an ideal law enforcer. So convincing was his embodiment of the archetype that Verhoeven cast him as another lieutenant in his next picture, the Schwarzenegger-led sci-fi memory mystery "Total Recall." With the rise in popularity of Japanese anime in the late '90s, Gregory found a new creative outlet as a voice performer. He acted in fan favorite "Cowboy Bebop," and voiced both Tsujisaki and Reiko on the futuristic "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex." In 1991, Gregory notably starred opposite a soon-to-be-famous Brad Pitt in a commercial for Levi's jeans.
