Biography
An actor with traditionally dashing good looks, James Pizzinato gathered a selection of short guest appearances in an impressively diverse range of television shows, amongst them "The L-Word" (Showtime 2004-09), "Aliens in America" (CW 2007-08), "Fringe" (Fox 2008-2013), "Caprica" (SyFy 2010) and "Alcatraz" (Fox 2012). His most substantial television role was as Nate in eight episodes of the metafictional show within a show mystery thriller "Cult" (CW 2013), while he had minor film parts in box office hits "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" (2011) and "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" (2011). A Canadian, Pizzinato began his career based in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he studied locally at the local Lyric School of Acting and helped form the Ninja Pirates Theatre Company. His first screen acting role was in the short-lived teen drama series "Life As We Know It" (ABC 2004-05), and his subsequent early work would include appearances in short films and small roles as handsome young outsiders on television, including a goth on "Saved" (TNT 2006) and a stoner on the teen-oriented sitcom "Aliens in America." As his profile grew, the shows in which Pizzinato appeared became more prominent, including a two-episode stint on J.J. Abrams' cult favorite "Fringe," three episodes as Drew on the "Battlestar Galactica" prequel "Caprica" and three more as Paxton Perry, prisoner #2223, on the Abrams-produced "Alcatraz" (2012). His co-starring role as Nate Sefton on "Cult" was his first substantial continuing part; his character's initial disappearance set in motion the chain of events which drove the series. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after a single season.
