A Nightmare on Elm StreetWelcome to a new feature here at the Fandango blog where we'll take a look at the film that came out on top at the box office over the weekend and then toss it to you to decide whether it was really worth the time and money. This week we're focusing on that Nightmare on Elm Street remake, which clawed its way to the top of the box office charts with $32.2 million.

Though How to Train Your Dragon ($10.8 million) and Date Night ($7.6 million) still managed to remain in the top three, it looks like folks were just itching to catch a glimpse of Freddy Krueger's return to the big screen. But was it worth it?

Critics weren't too kind to the Elm Street remake, since it's resting at a pretty nasty 15% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences may think the opposite (as witnessed by Rotten Tomatoes' readers giving it a healthy 58% rating). Here's where it's your turn to chime in – vote in our poll below and leave a comment letting us know what you thought of the film and whether you think A Nightmare on Elm Street was deserving of its box office win.
