We don’t know much of anything about Christopher Nolan's third (and quite possibly last) Batman film, except that it will most likely pick up where The Dark Knight left off – with Batman on the run and out of sight. Who will threaten Gotham this time, forcing Batman to return to show the people that he’s just there to help?
Thankfully there’s been no word that Batman 3 will be coming to us in 3D, though Warner Bros. has said that all their big tentpole films will be in 3D, so it’ll be interesting to see just how much power Nolan has over the situation. He doesn’t like 3D, and I can’t imagine he’d want them to convert the film to 3D, so will he get his way or will the studio force his hand? Definitely looking forward to the outcome, and to a summer already packed with potential.
Anchorman 2 Not Happening
Sure, it’s kind of a cult comedy, but the original Anchorman does have its fans, and those fans were definitely looking forward to a sequel. So was director Adam McKay, who, along with Will Ferrell, served up the first installment with a whole basket of laughs. Unfortunately, though, according to McKay’s Twitter feed, the sequel isn’t going to happen.
Mckay and the cast were ready to return and even sliced down the film’s budget, but Paramount just didn’t want to make the commitment. McKay Tweeted yesterday that the studio "pretty much passed" on the movie. I’m sure we’ll live, but it would’ve been nice to see an Anchorman 2. What do you think?
Jonah Hex Trailer
With less than two months before release, Jonah Hex finally got its long overdue trailer yesterday (you’ll also be able to see it in front of Nightmare on Elm Street), and while some are comparing it to Will Smith’s Wild Wild West (not a good comparison, mind you), I thought it looked pretty badass. I’m already getting a kick out of Josh Brolin as the deformed, ghostly cowboy, and you can’t ever go wrong with John Malkovitch as your bad guy. Right?
