If there's a theme to today's blog posts, it's sequels. Lots of sequel-talk across the web over the past 24 hours, but no worries -- I've got you covered. First up we have a potential third installment in the Gremlins franchise. Bloody Disgusting spoke with Gremlins and Gremlins 2 director Joe Dante, and thankfully he's not interested in going anywhere near the beloved franchise.

Says Dante, "I find it hard to believe that they won't make a Gremlins 3 because they're remaking Adventures in Babysitting. I mean, they're gonna remake everything. They won't be coming to me. (Laughs) I can tell you that for a fact." Dante not being involved is good news for fans who don't want another Gremlins movie, but bad news if the studio wants to revive the franchise with a new director and – gasp – CGI Gremlins! Could it be? Will it be? Let’s just say anything is possible in Hollywood …

In other sequel news, rumor has it Alicia Silverstone and writer-director Amy Heckerling are secretly plotting a sequel to Clueless. Star Magazine claims the two were spotted discussing the film, while Movieline managed to get a denial from Silverstone’s publicist and a "no comment" from Heckerling's publicist. Meanwhile, my non-existent publicist feels this may not be such a bad idea … especially if they bring back Silverstone and Paul Rudd as a couple with kids who are, like, totally clueless.

Gremlins & Clueless

So which would you rather: Gremlins 3 or Clueless 2?
