A lot of you are probably a bit too young to remember how big of a deal the first Who Framed Roger Rabbit movie was. When it hit theaters in 1988, the film was nominated for seven Academy Awards (it won four), and was hailed as a huge technological achievement – what with its mixing of live action and 2-D animation. And of course, who could forget Jessica Rabbit? Sleek and sexy, she's perhaps the most beautiful (and stunning) animated character ever created.

Now, all these years later, director Robert Zemeckis is tooling around with bringing Roger Rabbit back from the Hollywood graveyard. Though a direct-to-video prequel hit shelves following the success of the first film, and another big-screen sequel attempt failed due to a ballooning budget, Zemeckis feels now might be the right time to revive the classic character – especially since 3-D animation and motion-capture have become so popular; they could really have a ball with Roger Rabbit and Toon Town, and perhaps touch upon the disappearance of 2-D animation since the original film kinda marked the end of an era with regards to old school animated fare.

Says Zemeckis to MTV, "I'll tell you what is buzzing around in my head now that we have the ability—the digital tools, performance capture—I'm starting to think about Roger Rabbit." When pressed for more, Zemeckis said he couldn't divulge any information – but all signs definitely point toward a Roger Rabbit resurrection. Right now the bigger question should be … how long will we have to wait?

Would you want a new Roger Rabbit film? What could you see it being about?
