If you're a fan of the Twilight series and you weren't watching the MTV Movie Awards last night, then, well, what the hell were you doing!? This decade's hottest vampire franchise totally ruled the night, taking home several awards including Best Movie, Best Kiss, Best Breakthrough Performance Male (Robert Pattinson), Best Female Performance (Kristen Stewart) and Best Fight. Phew. That's a mouthful.

Not only that, but the first trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon also debuted … but we'll discuss that at greater length in the next post. SNL star Andy Samberg hosted the show, and he got a bunch of help from folks like Will Ferrell, Justin Timberlake, Sacha Baron Cohen, Megan Fox and a really whacked-out-of-his-mind Kiefer Sutherland (anyone else think that Sutherland was beyond hilarious during that Ben Stiller tribute?).

But speaking of folks who were a little bit over the top last night, what in the world was up with that Sacha Baron Cohen stunt? Cohen, who stars in this summer's follow-up to Borat, Bruno, was introduced on some sort of flying contraption, complete with angel wings and what looked like a g-string that was half missing … if you know what I mean. As he came sailing into the auditorium, the thing apparently malfunctioned, and before you knew it Cohen (as Bruno) was ass-to-face with rap star Eminem, who jumped up, cursed out Cohen, and stormed out of the theater. Was it a staged prank? Probably. But I bet Eminem wasn't expecting Cohen's half-naked body parts dangling two inches from his face on television. That's, well, kind of embarrassing … and while Eminem has a sense of humor, I don't think it goes that far. (Watch the clip on MTV.com)

Some other dudes and dudettes who took home awards include the recently-departed Heath Ledger for Best Villain (The Dark Knight), Ashley Tisdale for Best Breakthrough Performance Female (High School Musical 3), Jim Carrey for Best Comedic Performance (Yes Man), and Miley Cyrus surprisingly beat out Paramore's "Decode" (Twilight) with her tune "The Climb", from The Hannah Montana Movie.

Did you watch the awards last night? Did you enjoy the show, or was it a waste of time?
