Now that Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford has officially replaced Zac Efron as the lead in the planned (but not-so-anticipated-for-nostalgic-reasons) Footloose remake, it's time to find him a leading lady. In the original Footloose (1984), Lori Singer played Ariel, daughter of the town Reverend and somewhat of a loose canon. She's wild, likes to play rough and isn't afraid to break a nail. Entertainment Weekly reports that Dancing With the Stars' Julianne Hough will audition for the role this week, which, of course, leads us into this week's Friday Five: What other female song-and-dance queens would be good for the role? Here are our picks:

1. Vanessa Hudgens – Straight off the High School Musical series, Hudgens would've been a perfect match alongside her real-life boyfriend Zac Efron, but even without her main squeeze, this hot-to-trot brunette can belt out a tune with the best of 'em, and we all know director Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) is familiar enough with her work.

2. Miley Cyrus – Another Disney veteran, Miley might be a tad too young for this role, but since Crawford isn't the kind of actor who's ultra popular worldwide, then perhaps Cyrus could add that $100 million box office factor. Think about it … we'll get back to you.

3. Christina Aguilera – From current Disney gals to former Mouseketeers, Aguilera has already shown interest in heading to the big screen (she'll star in the film Burlesque), though at 29 she may be a bit too old for the Footloose role. Too bad, though, since she's the total package: the gal can sing the socks off anyone, dance the night away and bring the perfect amount of attitude to the role.

4. Britney Spears – And speaking of former Disney stars and attitude, while we're at it we may as well throw Britney Spears a comeback bone, too. Again, at 28, she might be a little old for the role, but she'd bring that cute, Southern slang and a heck of a lot of song-and-dance skills. Whaddya say?

5. Amanda Seyfried – In last summer's Mamma Mia, Seyfried proved she's got what it takes to be our dancing queen, though we worry that she's a tad too cutesy for the part. For this Footloose remake, we don't want to see the girl next door – instead, we want the girl who beat up the girl next door.

What say you, Fandango addicts? Any of our choices stand out, or do you have better ideas?
