Sam Worthington in Clash of the TitansIf you thought 2009 was packed full of awesome, wait till you see some of what 2010 has to offer. Here, now, are the first trailers for two of next year’s most talked-about films.

First up we have the Clash of the Titans remake, which comes served on a platter full of monstrous, fast-paced 300-esque battle sequences set to some good old rock music. Nope, this isn’t your 1981 Clash of the Titans – this is your balls-to-the-wall 2010 version, complete with boatloads of special effects and Sam Worthington leaping through the air with a dagger.

Personally, I kinda dug the trailer. Director Louis Leterrier is known for his fast-paced, rock n’ roll style of directing, and it lends itself quite well to the story of gods clashing with ancient monsters like Medussa. Of course they could’ve approached this film from a more epic, Lord of the Rings-style direction, but for all we know that stuff will present itself in the second trailer. My Verdict: Must Watch

Those leaving early test screenings of Kick-Ass are calling it the greatest comic book movie ever made. Perfect for The Dark Knight Generation, Kick-Ass is like an R-rated, do-it-yourself type of superhero movie – complete with a random teenager who decides one day that he’s going to become a superhero, despite the fact that he has no powers or weapons or even a costume.

The first teaser trailer sets up the premise, but it does very little to let you in on what sort of film this actually is (ie: it’s pretty dirty and bloody). Nicolas Cage, Mark Strong and Christopher “McLovin” Mintz-Plasse star in the film, which I guarantee will turn into the sleeper hit of 2010. My Verdict: Must Watch
