Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds will star in Marvel's Deadpool as the title character, reprising his role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine (above). But what's a modern superhero without a comic sidekick? Standup-comic-turned-actor T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) is in early talks to play "an additional comic voice to compliment [sic] Deadpool." Ed Skrein (TV's The Transporter Legacy) may also be joining the cast; it's speculated he might be a villain. The movie is scheduled for release on February 12, 2016. [The Wrap]
Run All Night: Liam Neeson stars in the upcoming action-thriller Run All Night, and the first official photos show him in action in underground and outdoor shots. He plays a hit man known as "The Gravedigger" whose son (Joel Kinnaman) witnesses a mob murder and it's up to Neeson to protect him. Ed Harris and Vincent D'Onofrio also star; the movie opens in theaters on April 17. [USA Today]
The Escapist: And speaking of Neeson (above in Taken 3, which opens on Friday), he's just set his next action-filled project. The Escapist is a remake of the 2009 original, which starred Brian Cox as "an inmate [serving] a life sentence who stages a prison break…so that he can see his sick daughter." Sean O'Keefe has been hired to write a new script. [Collider]
Accidental Love Trailer: Seven years after it was filmed, we have the first trailer for the nutty-looking comedy Accidental Love, starring Jessica Biel as a woman who enlists the help of a congressman (Jake Gyllenhaal) after an accidental nail to the head causes her to act very strangely. David O. Russell helmed the troubled project, then titled Nailed, nearly to completion back in 2008 before abandoning it. His name replaced with the nom de plume "Stephen Greene," it's headed for a small theatrical and VOD release in February. [MovieClips]
