One of the most anticipated films of the summer is Christopher Nolan’s Inception, especially since Nolan’s last film was a little something called The Dark Knight. Though not Batman-related, Inception brings with it an all-star cast and a crazy mystery plot that continues to pique our interest the more it’s revealed. So far little has been said about the film, except that it carries a budget of about $160 million, and has something to do with a team that extracts important information from the dreams of others.

The first teaser revealed mind-bending scenes, like two men fighting each other upside down while running along the side of a wall. Folks immediately made comparisons to The Matrix, and with good reason. Heck, even Nolan himself would agree. In a new report from the set of Inception, The LA Times attempts to unravel a little of the mystery while revealing four new images from a film that may very well be an Oscar contender come early next year.

What we now know is that Leonardo DiCaprio stars as a “dream thief” who uses a mysterious machine to steal secrets from the minds of tycoons after pumping them full of drugs. DiCaprio’s team includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ellen Page, the latter of whom describes Inception as having a story that’s “complicated but never confusing.” Nolan adds, “I always find myself gravitating to the analogy of a maze," he said. "Think of film noir and if you picture the story as a maze, you don't want to be hanging above the maze watching the characters make the wrong choices because it's frustrating. You actually want to be in the maze with them, making the turns at their side, that keeps it more exciting...I quite like to be in that maze."
