Richard Williams (portrayed by Will Smith) knows, and in the riveting drama King Richard, he sets out to make champions out of his athletic daughters, Venus and Serena Williams. Faced with overwhelming obstacles, Richard Williams forged ahead with his novel plan to transport his daughters from the streets of Compton, California to the global stage.
In our exclusive featurette, we first get a peek at a key scene, in which Richard Williams explains to his daughters the purpose of their trip that day and his intentions for them. Then actor/producer Will Smith explains why he "absolutely" had to tell the inspirational true story. Actress Saniyya Sidney (Venus Williams) describes it as a "feel-good" movie, while director Reinaldo Marcus Green notes the "incredibly hard" challenges of growing up in Compton for the Williams family, which is captured in the film.
