If you watched Terminator Salvation, then you're already well aware of Sam Worthington. He played the half human/half robot Marcus in the sci-fi actioner, and apart from also starring in James Cameron's highly-anticipated Avatar (due in theaters this winter), the up-and-coming tough guy will get a chance to do more battle in director Louis Leterrier's (The Incredible Hulk) remake of Clash of the Titans. And that's exactly what we're here to talk about today, as the first image of Worthington in full 300-like armor arrived in this month's issue of Empire Magazine and found its way online via a scanner (see below, with a larger version over on Coming Soon).

In Clash of the Titans, Worthington plays Perseus, a god who was raised as a man. In order to stop Hades (the vengeful god of the underworld) from unleashing hell on earth, Perseus assembles a daring band of warriors and leads them on a journey into forbidden worlds where they'll battle demons, beasts and all sorts of other-wordly creatures in an attempt to stop Hades before he can seize power from Zeus. Blah blah … it's all that Greek God stuff you studied in High School, only really awesome with killer special effects.

The film, due out on March 26, 2010, also stars Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Danny Huston and Gemma Arterton, among others. Based on the image, it definitely looks like Leterrier is going for that 300 sort of vibe, and so if you were a fan of that film (and others, like Gladiator), this should be right up your alley.

Will Clash of the Titans become the next 300? Sound off below …
