What is Voodoo about?

A child is stalked and kidnapped by a New Orleans Voodoo priestess who commits murder in a blood ritual. She chants as she charts revenge against a girl named Dani who she blames for her husband having an affair. Meanwhile, Dani leaves her hometown by train to Los Angeles on vacation. She carries her video camera and captures much of the journey. She is greeted warmly in Southern California by her cousin, Stacy, who grew up with her in New Orleans. Her cousin introduces her to her house mates and friends. Dani and her cousin enjoy the sights of Hollywood, Venice, Beverly Hills and other parts of Southern California, even though there are bad omens. Dani feels spooked in the house where she is staying, but doesn’t know why.
