The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 Character Guide

In 'Mockingjay, Part 1,' it’s a whole new game as Katniss leads District 13 in a full-on rebellion against President Snow and the Capitol. Let's meet some key players in the penultimate installment of 'The Hunger Games' series.

Katniss, our fearless heroine, has spread her wings to become The Mockingjay, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol. Her skills with the bow and arrow will be put to the test as the "Girl on Fire" struggles to protect and save her people from troops on the ground and ships in the air. 

This "fabulous baker boy" went on to join forces with Katniss in 'The Hunger Games,' playing out a romance with her for the viewing audience and sponsors -- and falling in love with her in the process. Now, Peeta is seemingly on the other side, aligned with Snow, which could create lots of conflict for Katniss when the two cross paths. 

In this new installment, Katniss’ hunky boy-back-home is now a soldier for the rebellion, fighting for more than just Katniss’ heart. Expect the Gale-Peeta-Katniss love triangle to reach its romantic -- and potentially tragic -- conclusion. 

As the mentor for Katniss and Peeta, Haymitch has shared some sage advice for his young fighters: “Stay alive.” As the revolution nears, that advice may be hard for our heroes to follow. 

After Effie is arrested at the end of ‘Catching Fire,’ fans of the books know what is in store for one of their favorite characters. The fun will come from seeing how it all plays out. 

As the President of District 13 and co-leader of the rebel forces, President Coin and Katniss must find a way to work together if they want their revolution to be successful. 

After the death of Seneca Crane, Heavensbee takes his place as the Head Gamemaker. As the revolution boils over, Plutarch will emerge as one of its key figures -- and as one of Katniss' most important allies. 

As the Master of Ceremonies and Host of the annual Hunger Games, Flickerman loves the limelight -- and shiny blue suits. His unique brand of commentary will hopefully provide some laughs as the revolution begins. 

As the President of Panem, Snow is a tyrant. He's also secretly afraid of the things Katniss and her rebellion can do to his all-important Capitol -- but he won't be able to keep that fear a secret for long once Katniss revolts. 

Katniss cares about her little sister, Prim, more than anyone else in the world. She's the reason why Katniss got into the Games, and is now on the frontlines of the revolution. Let's hope nothing bad happenes to Prim. 

The hunky - and often shirtless - Finnick turns out to be a pretty cool guy by the end of ‘Catching Fire.' Expect more good things from the unlikely hero in 'Mockingjay.' 

The female victor of the 71st Hunger Games may talk a blue streak, but she’s more than tough talk. She also knows how to swing an axe, and that skillset may come in handy during the revolution. 

By protecting Katniss and saving her life, Boggs gained her trust and loyalty. Fans of the books know how important Boggs' role is in the pending revolution, and it will be exciting to see how Boggs and Katniss' relationship continues to play out as the rebellion starts. 

With a hairdo that says she clearly isn't messing around, Cressida is a key member of the rebellion who will follow Katniss out of the Capitol and into battle.
