Some of the 'Expendables' cast members are getting up there in age -- one is in his seventies (that would be Harrison Ford). Here's how they looked at the beginning of their film careers, compared to how they look today. Brace yourselves!
Sylvester Stallone
The star/co-writer of the 'Expendables' series has had his share of ups ('Rocky') and downs ('Rhinestone') over the years, but the biceps never stopped bulging.
Jason Statham
The 1998 cult favorite 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' (left) wasn't a bad beginning for Britain's toughest movie star – though Statham was actually a professional model before he became an actor. He hasn't aged a day since.
Jet Li
The Beijing-born Li was a wushu master by the time he starred in 1982's 'The Shaolin Temple.' As seen in this photo from 1991's 'Once Upon a Time in China,' Li's typical Hong Kong movie hairstyle was the "Manchu queue."
Antonio Banderas
Before joining Stallone in 'Expendables 3,' Banderas appeared opposite the actor in 'Assassins.' But American audiences were first introduced to the Spanish star in 1995's action-packed 'Desperado.'
Wesley Snipes
In the 1986 comedy 'Wildcats,' Snipes and Woody Harrelson, who would later co-star in 'White Men Can't Jump' and 'Money Train,' both made their big-screen debuts as high school football players coached by Goldie Hawn (!).
Dolph Lundgren
Lundgren is one fascinating Swede, with degrees in chemistry and a black belt in karate. You'll remember him as Soviet boxer Ivan "I Must Break You" Drago in 'Rocky IV' (1985), left, though he appeared earlier in that year's James Bond film, 'A View to a Kill.'
Mel Gibson
We wish we could say that the awesome 1979 thriller 'Mad Max' was Gibson's first movie role, but that honor actually belongs to the obscure Aussie flick, 'Summer City.' Nevertheless, at left is Mel as Mad Max.
Harrison Ford
Long before his A-list days, we find Ford looking awkward on the set of 1966's 'Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round,' a James Coburn crime comedy. The future Han Solo didn't even receive a credit for his bit part as a hotel bellhop.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
The bodybuilder from Austria caught the acting bug early on. At left, the fledgling thespian – billed as "Arnold Strong, Mr. Universe" – flexes his talents in 1969's 'Hercules in New York.'
Terry Crews
In the 1990s, Crews was an NFL linebacker before he pursued acting full-time. His first role was as "T-Money," one of the stable of warriors seen in the short-lived athletic game show 'Battle Dome' (1999-2001).
Randy Couture
Before he was an action star, Randy "The Natural" Couture was an Ultimate Fighting star. And before that? He was a champion wrestler at Oklahoma State University in the early '90s, when he had hair.
Kelsey Grammer
That's right – Frasier is in 'Expendables 3'! Although not known for being a badass, Grammer did play Beast in the third X-Men movie, so there's that. At left is the actor circa 1984, at the start of his 'Cheers' days.
