The Brit Pack: The Actors

Across the pond, a group of dashing lads we like to call "the Brit Pack" have made their own mark. Here they are, starting with...

The Newcastle, England native caught everyone's eye as the buff motorcyclist dad 'Jax' Teller on the hit TV show 'Sons of Anarchy,' and really bummed the ladies when he dropped out of '50 Shades of Grey.' He'll be seen next in Guillermo del Toro's 'Crimson Peak,' out this week. 

The London native had multiple movies and TV series under his belt before becoming an international star with the acclaimed BBC series 'Sherlock.' He went on to play the villain Khan in J.J. Abrams' 'Star Trek Into Darkness' and recently opposite Johnny Depp in 'Black Mass.'

This Londoner had been working for 10 years before taking the world by storm playing the cruel villain Loki in 'Thor.' He would go on to star in its sequels and a little movie called 'The Avengers.' 

Radcliffe proved he was too sexy for his shirt when, in a huge departure from Harry Potter, he bared it all onstage in 'Equus' and sang and danced his way on Broadway with 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.' He starred as a widowed lawyer in 'The Woman in Black,' and played a guy growing horns in, well, 'Horns.'

Born Idrissa Akuna Elba in London, this actor became a star playing a charismatic -- and American -- drug dealer in the acclaimed series 'The Wire.' The 'Prometheus,' 'Thor' and 'Pacific Rim' star has won multiple Golden Globe nominations for the BBC series 'Luther.' And sometimes he DJs, too.

Also turning heads in Hollywood is this British chap who plays the character "Q" in 'Skyfall.' Whishaw role-hopped (including playing a female) in 'Cloud Atlas' and played the lead in the indies 'Perfume' and 'Bright Star.'

Born in London, Pattinson embodies perfection (as Team Edward would attest) in the form of 'Twilight' heartthrob Edward Cullen and 'Harry Potter' Quidditch captain Cedric Diggory. Don't forget, though, his other eclectic roles in 'Queen of the Desert,' 'Cosmopolis' and 'Water for Elephants.'

You best know Claflin as Finnick Odair in 'The Hunger Games' movies, but you might also remember him from 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.'

The Englishman best known as Superman was born on the Channel Islands. He auditioned for iconic roles such as James Bond, which Daniel Craig snagged; Batman, which went to Christian Bale; and ironically, Superman in Superman Returns, which went to Brandon Routh. However, Cavill's days of obscurity disappeared with Man of Steel in 2013.

After this fanboy suited up for 'The Amazing Spider-Man,' nobody's asking "Andrew who?" anymore. You know a British actor is THAT good when he's recruited to portray a classic American comic book hero. He has the acting chops, as seen in his portrayal of 'The Social Network''s fiery Eduardo Saverin. He reprised his role as the web-slinging hero in 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'  in 2014.

Aaron Johnson's green-eyed, wavy-haired features do indeed 'Kick-Ass' – his wife, director Sam Taylor-Wood (who is twice his age and with whom he has two kids) would agree. He had a host of credits before 'Kick-Ass' brought him to Hollywood's attention, and most recently starred as Quicksilver in the 'Avengers' sequel.

Dominic Cooper first caught our eye when he sang and danced – shirtless — in 'Mamma Mia!' He proved he was a tour de force as Uday Hussein in 'The Devil's Double,' but he made his mark in his first American comic book role: Howard Stark in 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and helped Abe go after vampires in 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.'

Londoner Ben Barnes cast a spell over audiences as 'The Chronicles of Narnia''s Prince Caspian, and his natural charisma also served him well in other period films like 'Easy Virtue' (in which he costarred with Jessica Biel as a lusty newlywed couple) and 'Dorian Gray.'  

Another London native, Jim Sturgess' rise to stardom came soon after he belted out Beatles songs in 2007's  'Across the Universe.' He's had moments of screen time in a variety of films, including 'Cloud Atlas,' 'One Day' opposite Anne Hathaway, and 'The Way Back' with Colin Farrell. 

For his Death Eater character Draco in the 'Harry Potter' movies, Felton bleached his hair blond and wore a perpetual scowl. But beyond the wizarding world he's also a singer who cofounded his own record label, Six String Productions. He's also starred in 'The Apparition' with 'Twilight' star Ashley Greene, 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' and the TV series 'Murder in the First.'

Grint's done a few small movies in between playing Harry Potter's best mate Ron Weasley, but look for him to break out of the mold as a seedy rock manager who helps Stanley Kubrick fake the moon landings in 'Moonwalkers' next year.

We first got a gander at Alex Pettyfer's pretty-boy face in 'Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker,' but in 'Magic Mike' he showed a natural talent for... well, stripping, too. Sadly, he was absent from its sequel.
