From 'Horns' to 'Scissorhands': 12 Movie Characters With Odd Appendages

In 'Horns,' Ignatius "Ig" Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) gets a surprise gift after his girlfriend's murder: A pair of horns, inexplicably growing on his head. Here are some other movie characters with extreme extremities.

Ig's not the only dude with unwanted horns: The demon known as Hellboy (Ron Perlman) routinely files his down to look more "normal." He can't do much about his solid-rock right hand, however. Or his red skin, for that matter.

Steve Martin plays a fire chief with a tremendous schnoz in this rom-com based on Edmond Rostand's 1897 play, 'Cyrano de Bergerac,' which itself was made into a movie several times -- particularly in 1990 with Gérard Depardieu.

For years, Inigo Montoya (Mandy Patinkin) has sought vengeance on the six-fingered villain who slew his father. Spoiler alert: Count Rugen (Christopher Guest) is that six-fingered -- or, technically, eleven-fingered -- man.

Edward (Johnny Depp) could help Count Rugen rid himself of that extra digit – and then some. Tim Burton's beloved creation may not make a good massage therapist, but he does have a talent for topiary.

There's nothing unusual about an angel having wings. However, it is a little unusual to see an angel hanging out in Iowa, especially when said angel smokes, swears and looks like John Travolta.

This cult satire from Britain stars Richard E. Grant as an ad man so stressed out that he gets a boil on his shoulder. The boil grows a face and starts talking -- as boils do -- and then things get even stranger, if you can believe that.

Kuato's got the talking boil beat: He's a mutant that extends from his brother George's (Marshall Bell) stomach, and beseeches Arnold Schwarzenegger,  "Open your minnnnnd…"

Did someone say mutants? The X-Men universe is filled with characters sporting unusual protuberances, from Wolverine's claws to Toad's notoriously long tongue. We prefer Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) and his pointy tail.

Another tail -- stubbier and far grosser -- pops up in this controversial comedy. Mauricio (Jason Alexander, left) reveals his vestigial tail to Hal (Jack Black) near the end of the movie: "Wanna pet the little fella?" "Nooo!"

What do you do when zombies tear off your leg? If you're go-go dancer Cherry Darling (Rose McGowan), you just stick a giant machine gun in the stump and go on the warpath.

What's weirder than a machine gun leg? How about two glass legs brimming with beer? This one-of-a-kind film is wonderfully perverse, and Isabella Rossellini is a real hoot as a beer baroness/amputee.

How could we -- or anyone -- forget Dirk Diggler's (Mark Wahlberg) special feature? If you don't know what we're talking about, you'll just have to ask someone who's seen the movie. This is a family website, after all.
