'Catching Fire': Your Guide to the Victors

The 75th Hunger Games is upon us and in honor of the third Quarter Quell, things are going down a little differently. Rather than reaping two contenders between the ages of 12 and 18 from each of the country’s 12 districts, tributes come from the pool of victors. You already know Katniss and Peeta, so meet the experienced killers who will try to steal their title when The Hunger Games: Catching Fire arrives on November 22.

District 1: Cashmere & Gloss

If you’ve seen The Hunger Games, you know what coming from District 1 means – career tributes. Katniss dubs Cashmere and Gloss “classically beautiful” siblings. When she was younger, she watched the pair dominate their games for two consecutive years, which would put the duo in their 20s. The entertainment value of their win streak made Cashmere and Gloss Capitol favorites and now that they’re back, they’re the ones to beat and they know it.

Who they are: Stephanie Leigh Schlund (The Following) and Alan Ritchson, Raphael in Jonathan Liebesman’s upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
District 2: Enobaria & Brutus

More career tributes. Enobaria volunteered for the 62nd games and is notorious for ripping out an opponent’s throat with her teeth. She had her teeth inlaid with gold and shaved into fangs. Brutus volunteered for the 41st Hunger Games. According to Katniss, he’s “at least forty and apparently can’t wait to get back in the arena.”

Who they are: Meta Golding (TV's CSI and Dark Blue, and upcoming film The Fix). Bruno Gunn was in the True Blood season finale.
District 3: Wiress & Beetee

Hailing from the district that specializes in technology, their intellect is their most valuable weapon. Wiress won the 38th Hunger Games and is a little "out-there." Beetee is still quite sharp. Because he posed no physical threat, he shocked Panem by winning his Hunger Games using an electronic trap.

Who they are: You probably best know Amanda Plummer as Honey Bunny in Pulp Fiction. Jeffrey Wright plays Valentin Narcisse on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire.
District 4: Mags & Finnick Odair

Initially, Finnick and his love Annie Cresta are reaped for the Quarter Quell. However, Mags steps up to take her place. She’s older than most, but Katniss notes Mags’ ability to make a fishhook out of anything. Finnick is a stellar swimmer and fisherman, and is quite skilled handling a trident.

Who they are: Lynn Cohen (Damages, Nurse Jackie) and Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Snow White and the Huntsman) .
District 5: Unnamed

Both tributes from District 5 go unnamed; however, following his Hunger Games victory, the male contender developed an alcohol addiction trying to cope with what he experienced in the arena.

Who they are: Newcomer Ivette Li-Sanchez and stunt man James Logan.
District 6: The Morphlings

The victors from District 6 go unnamed as well, but they do get an unforgettable nickname – The Morphlings. In the Hunger Games realm, Morphling is a powerful painkiller. The drug is addictive and after their games, both District 6 victors become hooked, causing their skin to take on a yellowish hue and sullying their mental capacity.

Who they are: Newcomers Megan Hayes and Justin Hix.
District 7: Johanna Mason & Blight

Johanna Mason was a less likely Hunger Games victor and she knew it. She managed to survive the arena by pretending to be a weakling until she let her ax loose. Blight goes largely unnoticed in Catching Fire with Katniss wondering if he ever even participated in training.

Who they are: Jena Malone (Sucker Punch, The Ruins, Pride & Prejudice) is one of the franchise’s new big-name recruits; stunt man Bobby Jordan.
District 8: Cecelia & Woof

Cecelia was a well-liked Hunger Games victor. Even Effie lets out an, “Oh, not Cecelia,” when she’s reaped and forced to say goodbye to three young children. Katniss calls Woof a “really old guy” who might not be totally sound because he often tries to eat poisonous bugs during training.

Who they are: Elena Sanchez (Olympus Has Fallen, Beautiful Creatures, The East). John Casino is known for his work as Kurt Russell’s personal stunt double.
District 9: Unnamed

There’s no specific information regarding the tributes from District 9 in Catching Fire.

Who they are: Stunt performers Marian Green (also credited as Amanda Plummer’s stunt double) and Daniel Bernhardt.
District 10: Unnamed

Again, not much is known about the victors hailing from District 10 besides the fact that their stylists try to copy Katniss and Peeta’s fiery look from the 74th games. Trouble is, District 10 is in the livestock business and dressing the duo up as cows and setting them ablaze doesn’t really have the same effect.

Who they are: Newcomer Tiffany Waxler and Jackson Spidell, a stunt performer in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Hansel & Gretel Witch Hunters.
District 11: Seeder & Chaff

Seeder strikes a chord with Katniss after making a point to assure her that both Rue and Thresh’s families are safe. Katniss assumes Seeder is in her 60s, but she still looks healthy and strong. Chaff lost his hand while winning the 45th Hunger Games. He can be boisterous and is known to indulge in one too many drinks with Haymitch.

Who they are: Maria Howell (Revolution, Devious Maids), E. Roger Mitchell (bit parts in Flight, The Walking Dead).
District 12: Katniss Everdeen & Peeta Mellark

In case you’re one of few who didn’t contribute to the first film’s $691.2 million worldwide haul, Katniss and Peeta are the most recent Hunger Games victors and are reaped again for the Quarter Quell. While Peeta is focused on keeping Katniss alive, Katniss feels responsible for Peeta, her family and the country.

Who they are: Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson (Red Dawn, Epic).
