The people have spoken, and they can’t get enough of those Toy Story characters. The third installment in Pixar’s most popular franchise opened to a staggering $109 million over the weekend, which is Pixar’s best opening to date (by over $40 million). Naturally, the fact that it was available in 3D definitely helped boost those numbers up a bit, but after a fairly disappointing summer so far, you could tell audiences were eager to throw some money at a movie they knew would satisfy.

'Toy Story 3'

But did it satisfy? Sure, critics loved it and I heard it made even the toughest of the tough break down and shed a few nostalgic tears, but maybe some felt it was a little too much of the same, and that aside from it being one big commercial for established, branded toys, it just didn’t say anything new. How did you feel?
