It’s December 31, 1999, and unpopular teenagers Eli and Danny (Jaeden Martell and Julian Dennison, respectively) are crashing the biggest party in town, where Eli’s crush (Rachel Zegler) will be. So far, so ‘90s teen movie, right? Except ‘90s teen movies never had to contend with the Y2K bug. And they definitely never had to contend with a machine uprising at the stroke of midnight.
