With Much Ado About Nothing comfortably nestled among the summer blockbusters and indie flicks in theaters, Joss Whedon is turning his attention back to The Avengers 2. Not that the press rounds for Much Ado didn't pry into the upcoming Marvel sequel, but at the U.K. gala premiere of the film, Whedon was asked a number of things about the film.
Perhaps the biggest reveal to come out of the Q&A session was Whedon revealing that Loki would not be appearing in the sequel.
Whedon was asked if there was another humorous Old English word like "quim" in the film. Whedon replied, "Everyone is going to be looking for the Loki-Hulk smash moment and you'll be looking for quim. No, first of all, imitating what I did before is the surest way to do it not as well. Second of all, Loki's not there to say those terrible things. Although I do think we should bring the word back, not as an insult, it's just a nice word."
Not good news for Tom Hiddleston fans, but The Avengers 2 will be packed with plenty of superheroes from the first film as well as whomever else Whedon drags in from the Phase Two films.
Are you bummed Loki will not be appearing in The Avengers 2?
The Avengers 2 is due in theaters May 1, 2015.
