What It's About: Two cheeky thieves recruit new allies to help them retrieve a lost relic that has fallen into the hands of a dangerous opponent, but they may have overestimated their abilities and underestimated their enemy in the thrilling, wisecracking comic action-adventure. And yes, there will be dragons.
Did You Know? The classic tabletop role-playing game previously served as source material for a film trilogy, though the new film has no connections to it. The original game also inspired the web series Critical Role; actors from that series will make cameo appearances in the new film.
What To Watch Beforehand: Even though it's entirely separate from the new film, you can compare and contrast Dungeons & Dragons from 2000. Even better, check out Chris Pine earlier in his career as he redfined a classic character in Star Trek.
