When you watch Furious 7 this weekend, you're going to be blown away by the action. But how much will you believe in the stunts? Did they really drive a car from one Abu Dhabi skyscraper to another? Did they really parachute a bunch of other cars from an airplane? Did they really crash and blow up all sorts of vehicles and collapse a parking garage in the middle of Los Angeles?
Well, some of that movie magic isn't completely an illusion.
Sure, there are times where Atlanta is a stand-in for L.A., and there are many moments where you're not seeing everything that was present during shooting -- erasing cables and other things is such a major part of special effects these days. Otherwise, a lot of what you're seeing was pretty much done for real.
The below video verifies the physicality of some of the movie's biggest and most amazing stunts via GoPro cameras on set recording the making of Furious 7. Just so you know, there are some slight spoilers, though not much more than is featured in the trailers. But seeing this before you see the movie might make you appreciate the work even more while you're watching.
