Green Book named Best Picture: The 91st Academy Awards were held last weekend, with Hollywood’s elite naming the best in movies and performances of last year. Green Book won the Oscar for Best Picture, while Rami Malek and Olivia Colman took the awards for lead acting, in Bohemian Rhapsody and The Favourite, respectively. Rami Malek is the next Bond villain: Speaking of Oscar winner Rami Malek, the Bohemian Rhapsody star is set to follow-up that biopic performance with a stint as the next Bond villain. Details about his role in the still-untitled 25th installment of the 007 franchise are nonexistent but you can find everything else we know about the movie here.

Kumail Nanjiani is going to be a spy: If you prefer your spy movies with more laughs than the usual 007 installment, comedian turned actor and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Kumail Nanjiani is going to star in his own intelligence-centered vehicle for producer Adam McKay (Vice). And while this movie, titled No Glory, is going to be funny, it’s also going to be based on a true story. Find out more here.

Aquaman 2 is coming in 2022: It was only a matter of time before Warner Bros. officially announced an Aquaman sequel. The first installment is only the highest-grossing DC comic book movie worldwide ever! The studio revealed that Aquaman 2 will open four years after the original’s release, on December 16, 2022. More Mad Max and Matrix movies on the way: Speaking of Warner Bros. franchises, while there hasn’t been an official green light of any specific sequels, the head of of the studio, Kevin Tsujihara, also revealed this week Warner’s desire to make more installments of the Mad Max and The Matrix franchises. MUST-WATCH TRAILERS

Dark Phoenix looks daunting: The second trailer for Dark Phoenix, the next installment of the X-Men franchise, arrived this week, and one half of its title seems very apt. This is a dark-looking sequel and seems to have some serious stakes for the mutant superheroes. Watch the new spot below and find out everything we know about the movie here.

 

Detective Pikachu is holding out for a hero: The Pokemon movie Detective Pikachu also unveiled a second trailer this week, this one with a rousing soundtrack in Bonnie Tyler’s “Holding Out for a Hero.” The new spot, which also expands our glimpse of the world building and more Pokemon creature cameos, can be found below. Hellboy reminds us the movie is R-rated this time: The second trailer for the Hellboy reboot was also released this week, but it’s the Red-Band version that fans are mostly excited about since it’s full of more blood and cursing.
