Warren Beatty hasn't directed a movie in 18 years. He hasn't even appeared in a movie, let alone starred in one, in 15 years. Now, following his comeback tease five years ago with the TCM short Dick Tracy special, the Oscar-winning helmer of Reds and four-time Oscar-nominated actor is heading back to the big screen. Today we finally get our first look at the new movie he directs and appears in, a period Hollywood comedy titled Rules Don't Apply, with a star-studded trailer.

Beatty plays Howard Hughes at the height of the iconic billionaire's eccentricity. But he's not the main focus. That would be a pair played by Lily Collins and future young Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich, new employees of Hughes' who fall in love against their boss's orders. There's also some religious incompatibility and maybe the issue that Hughes wants her for himself. The first spot is a little unclear on plot, but it doesn't matter because the ensemble is selling it.

Watch it below.

The cast also includes Matthew Broderick, Annette Bening, Ed Harris, Amy Madigan (she and real-life husband Harris play a married couple), Steve Coogan, Candice Bergen, Dabney Coleman, Megan Hilty, Martin Sheen (as Hughes' corporate CEO Noah Dietrich) and Alec Baldwin (as former FBI agent turned Hughes executive Robert Maheu). You can see most of them in the trailer.

There are a few movies this likely reminded you of immediately. One is, of course, Martin Scorsese's own Hughes biopic, The Aviator. Another is the latest Coen brothers movie, Hail, Caesar!, which is also about Hollywood in the 1950s and involves themes of religion and decency standards and, most importantly, also stars Ehrenreich. The latter movie is worth acknowledging as being a box office disappointment. Beatty, who has been involved with some infamous flops, hopefully won't see the same fate with this.

Rules Don't Apply opens on November 11.
