After years of speculation, it looks like we're finally getting a new Ghostbusters movie.

It was revealed this week that Katie Dippold, who wrote the hit comedy The Heat, has been hired to write the screenplay for the movie. And now her involvement caused previously attached director Paul Feig (who directed The Heat) to confirm on Twitter that he is directing the movie, and that yes, as rumored, it will star women this time around.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news, though it specifies that Sony does not currently have a production timeline on the movie. There's also no word on who from the original Ghostbusters movies might show up for a cameo, though we're still keeping our fingers crossed for a vintage Bill Murray moment. Unfortunately no release date or timeline means that Ghostbusters may not hit theaters for a while... but hey, we ain't afraid of no delay! Bring on this all-female reboot!

Now that we have some time -- what actresses would you like to see suit up as the next Ghostbusters?
