For the past week or so, there have been rumors circulating that Jennifer Connelly and Saoirse Ronan were in talks to join Darren Aronofsky's Noah. The Biblical epic already has Russell Crowe attached to play the lead role.

Today, Paramount Adam Goodman confirmed the additions of Connelly and Ronan. Connelly will play Noah's wife while Ronan's role is still a bit unclear.  There's also a villain role that has been floating around for a while that has Liam Neeson's name attached, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

Aronofsky describes the addition as a "perfect combination of casting." He previously worked with Connelly on Requiem for a Dream back in 2000 while Connelly and Crowe teamed on Ron Howard's Oscar-winning A Beautiful Mind.

Ronan most recently starred in last year's Hanna and Violet & Daisy. She already has a busy schedule with five other films in some form of production, including the film adaptation of Twilight author Stephenie Meyer's The Host and the Disney live-action Snow White re-imagining The Order of the Seven. At the age of 18, she's already earned an Oscar nomination for 2008's Atonement and positioned herself as one of the promising young actors in Hollywood.

Noah sails into theaters on Mach 28, 2014.

Do you like the additions of Connelly and Ronan? If you had doubts about this film, do these casting additions make you reconsider watching this movie?

Josh Duhamel In Nicholas Sparks Adaptation

Where Transformers star Josh Duhamel ranks in the pantheon of leading men in Nicholas Sparks movies remains up for debate, but the husband of Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has been cast to star in the lead role of yet another Sparks book-to-film adaptation.

This time, it's Safe Haven that's getting the big screen treatment. The story follows a young North Carolina woman who is determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into a relationship with a widowed store owner (Duhamel) with kids. She begins to fall in love with him and struggles with a dark secret that haunts her. Yep, looks like all the familiar Nicholas Sparks pieces are in play.

So who will play the female lead? At one point Keira Knightley was in talks, but has since moved on. The film is set to hit theaters on February 8, 2013, where it will go up against the recently bumped Keanu Reeves 3D blockbuster 47 Ronin and the Channing Tatum/Rooney Mara crime thriller The Bitter Pill.

Do you buy Duhamel as a leading man in Nicholas Sparks' romantic universe? Who should play the female lead?
