Star Wars: Episode 8

As we anxiously await Star Wars: Episode VIII, writer-director Rian Johnson has shared two new photographs from behind the scenes via social media, as well as a little news.

The photographs (above and below) are captioned: “Good. Bad. I’m the guy with the microfiber sham.”

The quotation is an apparent reference to a scene in Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness, in which Ash (Bruce Campbell) faces off against himself. Watch the clip below; the dialogue in question can be heard near the end.

As for the news, it's right there in Johnson's caption: "I can’t believe we’re halfway through the shoot. (We’re halfway through the shoot!)" We know that principal photography on the movie began on February 15. That suggests production will continue through mid-July. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on December 15, 2017.
