Paul Walker was a busy guy. While he was best known for his recurring role in the Fast & Furious franchise, Walker consistently worked outside the blockbuster action franchise. A few of those films have been nearing theatrical release following his sudden death on November 30.
Meanwhile, Fast & Furious 7 will work around the footage they've shot with Walker and somehow retire his character. That film is slated to arrive in theaters on April 10, 2015.
Walker had a few other projects he was circling and now it appears other actors are stepping in to fill the vacated roles.
First, Homeland star Rupert Friend is currently in talks to play the lead role in a reboot of 2007's Hitman starring Timothy Olyphant. The reboot is titled Agent 47 and follows the adventures of a cloned assassin.
Shifting to a completely different genre, Walker's good looks weren't missed by the folks behind those Nicholas Sparks movies. Walker had been set to star in the film adaptation of The Best of Me. Relativity and director Michael Hoffman have now offered the role to James Marsden. Deadline reports that Relativity had been looking to recast the lead role and their choices had been narrowed down to Marsden and Magic Mike's Joe Manginello.
Neither film has a release date yet.
How do you think these two actors will do in replacing Walker in the respective starring roles?
