Now that The Amazing Spider-Man is out on Blu-ray and DVD, director Marc Webb can shift his attention to the sequel, which currently has a release date of May 2, 2014. Casting news has been flying around the Internet, from the rumor of Jamie Foxx playing Electro to Shailene Woodley confirmed as Mary Jane Watson.

Face it, tiger. You’ve hit the jackpot.

One other key supporting character Webb wants to add to the mix for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is Harry Osborn, Peter Parker’s best friend (and the son of Norman Osborn, the eventual Green Goblin).

And according to Heat Vision, Webb has three actors on his short list because they lean toward a potentially darker portrayal of this complicated character. (It’s in the second half of this article.)

Insiders says Webb is considering Brady Corbet (top), Dane DeHaan (middle) and Alden Ehrenreich (bottom) for the role of Harry, though there “could be other names in the mix because the character is evolving.”

It will be very interesting to see how far they go with Harry in the immediate sequel. Because Webb already has Emma Stone playing Gwen Stacy, die-hard Spider-Man fans are anxious to see this iteration of Spidey tackle the Green Goblin saga … and Harry would be a big part of that.

But if Foxx actually plays Electro, will The Amazing Spider-Man 2 have more than one main villain? Will they set the Green Goblin up for a part three?

There are a lot of questions surrounding the sequel, which reportedly will begin filming in February. Cast your vote in our poll below to tell us who, from the above three, you’d like to see tackle the role (or vote “Other” and give us your suggestion in the Comments section below).
