The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara: Oscar Isaac (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, above) is in talks to star in Steven Spielberg's The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara. If things work out, Isaac will star opposite Mark Rylance. The drama is set in the 19th century and follows a young Jewish boy in Italy who is forcibly taken from his parents to be raised as a Christian. His parents must then struggle to regain custody. Now You See Me: A Chinese spin-off of the Now You See Me franchise is on its way. The movie will feature a largely Chinese cast and will be shot in China. Taiwenese star Jay Chou appeared in Now You See Me 2 in a supporting role (above), though it's not known if he'll return. The sequel has already earned more at the box office in China than it has in the U.S. [THR]
Big Stone Grid: Pierre Morel (The Gunman, Taken) will direct the suspense thriller Big Stone Grid. S. Craig Zahler (Bone Tomahawk) wrote the original screenplay. Reportedly, the story follows two police detectives pursuing serial killers who claim they have been extorted into committing their crimes. [Deadline]
