Ghostbusters: Sony Pictures has had "second thoughts" about moving forward with its planned sequel Ghostbusters 3 and is now "entertaining" the prospect of a rebooted Ghostbusters led by women. Paul Feig (Bridesmaids) has had discussions with the studio about writing, producing and directing a new version "from scratch." Melissa McCarthy and Emma Stone have been floated as possible stars. Studio Ghibli: Japan's Studio Ghibli, world famous for animated productions such as Spirited Away and The Wind Rises, may be taking a break. Cofounder Hayao Miyazaki retired from filmmaking last year and the company's latest feature, When Marnie Was There, released in Japan last month, is considered only a modest hit. The Giver: As part of his promotional duties for The Giver, Jeff Bridges stopped by Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. As is his wont, Bridges changed things up by throwing in the style of "The Dude," his starring role in the Coen brothers' The Big Lebowski. The Giver opens in theaters on August 15.
