Star Trek 3: Simon Pegg is cowriting a new draft of the screenplay for Star Trek 3. Pegg, who is already set to reprise his role as ship's engineer Scotty, has considerable experience as a writer, with credits including Shaun of the Dead and The World's End. His collaborator this time is Doug Jung, creator of TV series Dark Blue. The movie is still heading to theaters on July 8, 2016, with Justin Lin on board to direct. [Deadline]
