Deadpool 2: Ryan Reynolds will star in a sequel to Deadpool. Director Tim Miller will also return, as will writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. A sequel has been touted even before the original started smashing box office records in February, but this is the first official confirmation. Batman: The Killing Joke: An animated movie version of Alan Moore's classic tale Batman: The Killing Joke has been rated R. It's the first entry in the DC universe original-movie franchise to receive the restricted rating, though the extended home video version of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was recently rated R. Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill lead the voice cast as Batman and the Joker, respectively. The movie will be released later this year. [EW]
The Dark Tower: Jackie Earle Haley (London Has Fallen, above) is in negotiations to join the cast of Stephen King's The Dark Tower. Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey are already set to star; Nikolej Arcel will direct. If things work out, Haley will play Sayre, a menacing vampire leader.
