The Happening
Hollywood keeps taking a chance on M. Night Shyamalan, most recently with this film about a mysterious plague sweeping the East Coast that incites people to commit suicide. Mark Wahlberg and Zooey Deschanel play a couple on the run from the unstoppable threat -- is it a government conspiracy? terrorists? aliens? -- with a friend and his daughter.
You Don’t Mess with the Zohan
Borrowing a little from Borat, Adam Sandler's most recent comedy centers on the Israel-Palestine conflict and an Israeli soldier whose great dream is to be a hairdresser. Sandler's Zohan heads to the Big Apple and trades in his rifle for a hairdryer and a pair of scissors. Thing is, it turns out the only salon hiring is owned by--gasp! A hot Palestinian.
The Visitor
Character actor Richard Jenkins stars as Walter Vale, a depressed, lonely widower who finds a new lust for life through an illegal Muslim immigrant couple he meets on a chance trip to New York City. When the husband is arrested, Walter makes it his mision to fight the system.
