Sweeney Todd has landed, and those who've seen it are going gaga over it. Check out the Variety review here.
A couple of our trade folks also caught a special screening, and can't stop raving about it.

Apparently, Johnny Depp can sing, and does a lot more in the lead role, creating a memorable, empathetic Sweeney Todd.
Tim Burton, according to our people, has crafted a "dark, but pure" masterpiece, which has a "good blend of comedy, love story and villains to root against."
While reporters speculate whether the project’s too bloody for the best pic Academy Award and/or wide spread success, I’ll call phooey.
This one has lots of positive buzz, the success of a Broadway musical, and an A-list filmmaking team. Violence didn't hurt Pulp Fiction, and music lovers tuned in big-time for Hairspray.
Here's to the movie hitting the plus-$100 million mark, which I predict is only a wide release away (the film opens limited on Dec. 21, but then expands nationwide in January).
