Moviegoer Poll is a weekly theater-related discussion post here at Fandango where we talk about the past, present and future of moviegoing

With only a few weeks left in 2012, it's finally time to look back fondly at the year that was. That means the rest of our Moviegoer Polls this month will be related to the best experiences you had in a movie theater this year, as well as what you hope to discover (and enjoy immensely) in 2013. For starters, I want to kick things off with which movie you had the most FUN watching in a theater this year.

Forgetting about that friend of yours who complains about everything for a moment, can I just say how great this year was for movies? Maybe it'll take a little distance before we truly classify 2012 as one of the best years for movies in a long time, but it was, and now might be a good time to fist-pound Hollywood for a job well done.

Now, when I ask which movie you had the most fun watching in a theater, I'm looking for the experience that made you laugh, applaud, or just stand up and cheer. This is the moviegoing experience that will always bring a smile to your face; the one you saved the ticket stub from in order to show your grandkids someday. I want THAT movie.

For me, it was probably The Avengers. I saw it just before it officially hit theaters with an audience full of Marvel geeks that just went wild for the movie. I laughed, I clapped more than once, and, yes, I did stand up and cheer at the end. Here's hoping Joss Whedon can recapture the magic of that first movie in his sequel, due out in 2015, because man was that a fun ride on the big screen.

Now it's your turn. As we begin to look back at 2012, which one movie did you have the most fun watching in a theater this year?
