Solo: A Star Wars Story: Director Ron Howard has confirmed via social media that Jon Favreau (above) will be voicing "a very cool & important alien character" in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Earlier in the month, Favreau shared a photo of himself with Howard and Lawrence Kasdan, who cowrote the script, and also included hashtags that hinted at the connection. The movie opens on May 25. David Copperfield: Academy Award-nominated actor Dev Patel (Lion, above) will star in The Personal History of David Copperfield. Based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, the film will follow the titular character as he seeks his place in the chaotic modern-day world. Armando Iannucci and Simon Blackwell wrote the screenplay; Iannucci (HBO's Veep; The Death of Stalin) will direct. [Variety]
A Head Full of Ghosts: Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat's Daughter, aka February, above) will write and direct a big-screen version of Paul Tremblay's novel A Head Full of Ghosts. The thriller revolves around a woman who tells a journalist a far more horrifying version of what happened to her family 20 years before than was previously reported. Robert Downey Jr. will produce.
