I know, I know, it’s the day none of us have been waiting for – apparently Lindsay Lohan has managed to get enough of her act together to star in an indie fantasy comedy called The Other Side. According to Variety, Lohan will join Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Dave Matthews and Alanis Morisette. That’s right -- this ain’t no 90s mix tape, that’s really Dave Matthews of The Dave Matthews Band and Alanis Morissette of, well, "isn’t it ironic…don’t ya think?"
The film itself sounds like an episode of "Lost"; La Lohan will play a grad student who must spend a summer on a remote island working for some scientific institute. It’s there on the island where she meets a community of eccentric characters who are hiding a secret about a tragedy that took place years before. Hopefully they won’t throw in a smoke monster and a number of random unanswered questions, too. (If you watch "Lost", you got that last sentence – if you don’t watch "Lost", well, then how come you don’t watch "Lost"?!)
Director David Michaels (who’s helming The Other Side) says Lohan is well aware of how people view her, and she’s committed to doing a swell job. This will be her first role since the 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me.
Anyone excited about Lohan’s return to movies? (Don’t make fun, but I kinda think she has a lot of potential if the gal would just take a chill pill and focus on doing the best job she can.)
