We only have to wait three more weeks before Star Wars: The Force Awakens finally lands in theaters on December 18, which means we're rapidly approaching a point when we all lose our minds with excitement. That hasn't happened yet, though, so as we head into the weekend, we have one more television spot to share.
It's an extended spot that looks quite dark, putting the spotlight on Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). We know he's a villainous character, so it's appropriate that he begins here by having an unpleasant encounter with expert pilot Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac), followed by snippets in which he wields his cross-guard lightsaber in a menacing manner toward our heroes; note that Rey (Daisy Ridley) is visibly shaking.
"You don't know what I've seen," says Finn (John Boyega). "We all need to run." Indeed, we then see characters running for their lives, though we also glimpse Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Chewbecca (Peter Mayhew) come out fighting.
By the way, the spot concludes with the notation that the film has not yet been rated, but an official rating has now been issued by the Classification and Ratings Administration: "Rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence."
That's the same rating assigned for Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith in 2005, for "sci-fi violence and some intense images." The other Star Wars episodes have all been rated PG.
