Kevin CostnerWith Henry Cavill all set to take on the Man of Steel – and Warner Bros. itching to begin production this summer in order to make a December 2012 release date – expect a lot of casting announcements regarding Zack Snyder’s upcoming Superman film to begin spreading across the net like wildfire. The latest news is that Kevin Costner is being eyed join the film in an unspecified role. However, since that little nugget of news hit, the folks over at Latino Review are saying he’s up for the role of Jonathan "Pa" Kent, Clark Kent’s adoptive father.

Seems like an obvious choice for Costner, who, let’s face it, isn’t exactly villain material. He’s a good-looking, Americana-type actor, and as Clark Kent’s father here on Earth, the guy definitely looks the part. Just the fact that they’re looking to nab a big-name actor for the role of "Pa" Kent means he probably factors prominently into the script.

Not the most badass character from the Superman mythology, but it’s a start. Do you think Kevin Costner is a good fit for the film as "Pa" Kent, or do you envision an older actor in the role?
