Justin BieberNo, seriously. Ladies and gentlemen, what follows is easily this year's weirdest piece of news yet. Deadline reports that, as previously rumored (and thought to be a complete joke), Paramount is actually planning to stage a 3D Justin Bieber movie after striking a deal to acquire the young artist's life rights … despite the fact that he's only 16.

I'll give you a minute to digest …

Done punching the wall? Okay, cool. Here's the next bit of crazy info: Apparently Oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) will direct the film, which will include live performances from his current tour. Reacting to the news, Bieber – who also struck a deal to write a memoir on his life for HarperCollins – tweeted the following: "Next Valentine's we r coming with a major 3D Movie telling the story with an Oscar winning director and also filmin the tour at MSG in NYC!!"

It's interesting to see they're going the biopic route instead of just putting out a straight 3D performance film, like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and U2 have done in the past. Part of me still thinks that's what we're going to see since it's already scheduled to hit theaters in February, which isn't really enough time for them to plan, cast and film an entire feature film narrative. I see this being concert footage mixed with interviews, backstage stuff and maybe even a handful of staged scenes recreating how Bieber became an overnight sensation via YouTube. That I can live with. 8 Mile 2: The Justin Bieber Story … not so much.
What do you think? Is Bieber too young to have his own biopic at 16?
