Rumors circled the internet this week claiming that The Twilight: Eclipse was having so much trouble in post-production that Summit Entertainment had actually reached out to New Moon director Chris Weitz and even Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke with news that they may need one or both to return to the world of Twilight to help re-shoot a few critical scenes. Not only that, but word was David Slade was a nightmare after delivering a cut that wasn't up to par; perhaps one that was a little too dark for Summit. (Hey, not for nothing, but that's what you get when you bring on a straight genre director whose last film featured nasty, gruesome vampires eating their way through an Alaskan down.)

'Eclipse'

Not long after folks began freaking out, though, HitFix came to the rescue with word that there aren't any reshoots; instead, David Slade is returning to Vancouver for pick-up shots, which were planned months ago. Pick-up shots are different from re-shooting entire scenes in that they're simple shots that become a necessity due to bad lighting during the original shoot or because of a continuity issue. Essentially it's something that happens on every film, so to see it happening here is completely normal.

Furthermore, Summit claims this may be the best of the three films so far, and they're extremely proud of the movie they're putting out on June 30th. So, Twi-hards, feel free to take a nice, deep breath since it would appear the next Twilight sequel is still in very good hands.
