While making the rounds promoting his new horror film Drag Me to Hell, director Sam Raimi has been doing his best to answer every Spider-Man 4 question tossed his way without giving up too many juicy details. What we know so far is that the fourth installment (due in theaters on May 6, 2011) will be a more personal story for Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and that it may or may not include our hero's love interest through four films, Mary Jane (played by Kirsten Dunst).

Regarding villains, a lot of folks had a hard time with the three different baddies in Spider-Man 3, and so look for them to possibly trim that down to two. That duo may include The Lizard (whose alter-ego was featured in Spidey 2 and 3 as Parker's lab supervisor, played by Dylan Baker), as well as Morbius. The latter villain is a nasty vampire that has ties to Lizard in the comics, which makes the evil combo a very realistic possibility. When asked about Morbius during a recent interview with FearNet (hosted over at CHUD), the director slyly looked at the camera and very slowly said, "I don’t know anything about that" – which leads us to believe there's some truth to the rumor.

Since Raimi is still waiting for a final version of the script, nothing is concrete until an official announcement is made. In the meantime, what do you think about Lizard and Morbius as the two villains in Spider-Man 4? Are they better than Sandman and Venom?
