Though he may not be the funniest man in the world right now, Forbes definitely thinks Adam Sandler is the most valuable comedian in front and behind the camera. And I can totally see how they’d come to that conclusion, especially since the films Sandler stars in usually bring in at least $100 million to the box office – not to mention how busy he is behind the scenes as a producer on at least seven different films in the past two years.
Following closely behind Sandler in the most valuable comedian category is his old "Saturday Night Live" co-star, Will Ferrell, who, apart from also starring in big-time money makers, also helped launch the ultra-successful comedy website FunnyorDie.com and had a big part in putting together the surprisingly hilarious (and raunchy!) HBO show "Eastbound & Down." Behind these two powerhouses, you’ll find guys like Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey, both of whom can still bring in the big bucks and (sometimes) the big laughs.
Wait a couple years, though, and I’m sure we’ll begin to see guys like Seth Rogen or, heck, what about a girl like Tina Fey or Anna Faris?
What do you think? Is Sandler the most valuable comedian working today? Do you also consider him to be the funniest?
