Housekeeping For Beginners

Family is what you make it. That’s one of the truths explored in Goran Solevski’s new drama Housekeeping for Beginners, which is now playing in wide theatrical release.

Social worker Dita never wanted children, but when her dying girlfriend asks Dita to raise her daughters, Dita finds herself agreeing. She already has a house full of young adults who can’t be themselves anywhere else, and Macedonian institutions aren’t exactly friendly to LGBTQ+ folks. Somehow, they'll make it work.

In our exclusive scene below, Dita has concluded that the best way to keep their found family together is for her to marry a man. The groom, her gay housemate Toni, isn’t exactly happy with the proposed arrangement, but she’s adamant that nothing will change for him.

The riveting Housekeeping for Beginners made a splash when it debuted at last year’s Venice Film Festival. After two weeks in limited release, it’s bringing its universal story to theaters across the U.S. Check out the clip, and get your tickets to see Housekeeping for Beginners right here.
